Floral designer Tom Wineman
Mary Hoats using a branch to drip white latex paint on raw canvas. Action painting (like Pollock) in an abstract art class.  So fun to watch these older women let out their aggressions on the canvas.  It was so exciting.

I'm also working on a new website that is not blogified. So it will be up when I get somewhat finished. But I'm keeping this blog for ongoing stuff

Kenny Loggins performed at Chautauqua
I don't really like the idea of performances in general.  They are too extensively planned and calculated and not real. But people need their entertainment, so I guess it has to be.
I like finding photos that show moments that are not at the height of the action.   I like when the person is just being. Maybe thinking about their dog on stage. Or inhaling, thinking of what to say next.  When things look quiet.

Hands

This elderly man was sitting right next to me in a lecture hall on some steps.  He was in pain because of the seating situation and I thought it looked beautiful not in focus, with the weight on the physical expression.

Air sculpture

I was waiting for an art class to start for an assignment and there was this great sculpture outside. It's a branch draped in translucent fabric. I like the soft motion. I wanted to just focus on the light on the fabric, but ended up liking the starry sun in there. I don't really like this photo, I like the sculpture. I didn't do it justice.

Color Lover

I enjoy this angle. I was sitting at his feet. He didn't seem to mind.

I love seeing artists work. I love the action and the process, knowing that they think about every shade and stroke. It's emotional to watch an artist work, at least for me. I like the first photo because her apron almost matches the canvas, and the angle is kind of extreme. Don't think too hard about the third photo, it's just an indulgence.

Cosi Fan Tutte-Opera.  I don't like performance photos so much, but I love the color.  And the opera gained a new devotee.
